Welcome to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi
Sri Lanka and the UAE
established ties in July 1979, opening a resident mission in Abu
Dhabi to support a growing diaspora—now around 150,000 citizens.
Upgraded to an embassy in 1983, it expanded with a Dubai Consulate in 1993.
Key bilateral agreements span double taxation avoidance, air
services, and manpower, boosting strong trade, investment, tourism,
and community welfare.
